Holme Manor Big NewsWell its been a very busy month in March yet again with lots going on.
I attended a sharing Good Practice Conference at Barton Grange Hotel, Preston on the 19th March 2014 where I met the wonderful Esther R from Thats Life. She was such a lovely lady and listening to her talk was very motivating. She has set up a phone line called THE SILVER LINE and is for older people to call if they feel lonely and need some just to chat too. The number is 0800 70 80 90.
You will have notice at the top of the Manor garden our wonderful new path leading to our Summer House. It will be such a great place to sit and chat and also learn about gardening once the warmer weather allows us outside. If you have any knowledge, advice or spare time to help that would be great too. Hopefully we will get everything moving this month and be ready to plant herbs and many different plants that can be then planted in the garden. We will also just sit and watch the world go by too. We must say a very BIG thank you to Robert Hodgkinsons family for the donation to allow us to purchase the summer house.
We have been baking bread rolls also which was a great activity and the residents really enjoyed eating our bread rolls washed down with a shandy in the sunshine. This will become a permanent new activity I think as we chatted away the hours and smells coming from the kitchen ovens really did take us back. If you go to our recipe page you will see the recipe for you to try at home.
We have also done lots of craft activities this month trying out new things and some are still in the trial stage but will be display some on our new display in the conservatory and quiet lounge.
