Holme Manor News February 2014

Happy New Year to you all and lets hope its a good one for everyone. We have not had the snow yet so fingers crossed it stays away. The weather has been wet and cold but we at least we can all get out and about.

We were so busy before Christmas with activities and entertainment and it does not seem to be slowing down.

Below are some dates for your diaries.

11th February Barry will be singing 1.30 - 2.45 pm
13th February Bingo 1.30 - 2.45 pm Eyes down for a full house
25th February Cats in Pjs will be doing a Wild West Show and singing

11th March Bingo 1.30 pm - 2.45 pm will you win a line or a full house?
25th March Peter 1.30 pm - 2.45 pm will be playing his accordion for us

1st April Barry 1.30 - 2.45 pm will be singing some of our favourite songs

So as you can see will be busy so hopefully you can pop on down to see us and join in.

We have being done lots of new crafts and having been having a great time learning new skills together.

Peter Dunn came in on the 21st January 2014 to talk to us about he local mills and the footwear industry within the Rossendale Valley. The talk was very interesting and was a great success. Peter is back in the Manor today 4th February talking to a few of our residents who worked at Lambert Haworth's Mill. Peter is collating information about the mills so if you do have any pictures of information please contact the office and we can pass the details on to Peter.

You may have noticed two students with us for the last two weeks. The girls were from Burnley College and were an asset to the team and we wish them both well for the future. They have been missed by staff and residents this week.

If you have any ideas for activities or any requests please leave the details with Ryan or Jessica in the office.

We will soon be able to use our wonderful new summer house and this will be used by as many of our residents as possible. We hope to grow our own herbs and flowers and get our residents into the fresh air and enjoy some quite time also in the summer house.

Well I will be intouch again to up date you with some of our wonderful news .

Many thanks for your continued support.
