Celebrations at the ManorWhat a few weeks we have had at the Manor. It has been an amazing time with all the staff, residents and family members.
It all started with our Ladies Pamper Evening Sunday 18th November when we had a lovely evening with cheese, biscuits and wine. All the ladies gathered in the quiet lounge with family members and we saw all the gorgeous goodies from the Body Shop. Christine passed around some hand creams, body lotions, perfumes, lotions and potions. They smelt wonderful.
After our nibbles and drinks we all had hand massages using hemp and rose hand creams. This was a great end to our evening and we all felt very very relaxed.
The evening was a huge success and a nice way to spend some quality time together.
On Tuesday 11th December Aladdin arrived at the Manor to entertain our residents and family members.
The two girls Rebecca and Becky set up in the lounge and transformed it into another world where Aladdin and his mum went on a journey. The residents enjoyed joining in and singing along to the songs and also taking part in the panto.
By the end of the show residents were up and dancing along before getting ready for their lunch.
The panto went down a treat and was enjoyed by all.
On Friday 14th December saw 29 Yr 6 pupils from St James the Less and their teachers arrive along with David from Kay Street Baptist Church for our Christmas party.
The children sang along to traditional Christmas carols played by Peter our resident accordion man and David used puppets to tell the story of Jesus's birth. The whole of the Manor was involved and the residents and family members really enjoyed singing along with the children.
The children had refreshments before receiving a little gift from Father Christmas who had made a special visit to give the residents their Christmas presents.
After all the residents received their gifts they enjoyed homemade potato pie and pickles which was needed after all that singing.
On Sunday 16th Sunday December we celebrated a 70th Birthday for one of our lovely ladies. The Manor was filled with family members and the atmosphere was electric throughout the day. A buffet was made which was fit for a king and queen and a beautiful cake in the shape of a handbag was presented to Isobel whilst we sang Happy Birthday. This was a lovely end to a rather busy week.
We have another action packed week ahead and our counting down to Christmas.
May we take this opportunity to thank you for all your continued support over the last year and look forward to 2013.
