Get Connected Directors To Visit The ManorAs you know we have been using the iPads now for nearly 6 months and we are pleased with our progress and how the iPad has been come a really useful therapeutic tool for our residents.
We are delighted that we are being visited by the Get Connected Directors on Friday 16th September to show them the good practice and work we have achieved since receiving the iPads.
Not only have we used them with the Manor for activities and planned events but we have also touched the community around us.
Rossendale Hospice are using 4 iPads now on a weekly basis to use with their cilents who attend session during Tuesday - Friday. They have proved a big hit as initially they only used 2 iPads but they are now so much in demand we have increased the availability for them.
Paula Bond our Activity Co-ordinator is also working along side 3 local Primary Schools who have welcomed the new technology with open arms. The children who are mainly year 6 pupils work on their curriculum subjects and place information onto the iPads to be brought back to the Manor for our residents to see which is wonderful to see.
We currently have a wonderful display from St James The Less Primary School in Rawtenstall. This is a large letter written in hieroglyphics and it is wonderful. We also have letters from Crawshawbooth Primary thanking us for our time and visit.
This is a great outcome for our project and we look forward to achieving more in the future.
