School Projects

We are currently working with the yr5 children at St James the Less School, Rawtenstall. The children have been making presentations, taking photos, making videos and so much more with the Holme Manor iPads. So far we have been to Egypt the land of Pharaohs and now we have been working on the wonderful children’s favourite Peter Pan.

The children are learning new skills with the iPad technology and are really enjoying the interaction between their curriculum subjects and our residents. The children are in charge of the project and when it has been completed it is taken back to the residents to allow discussions to take place about that subject. It has really opened the door to another world for our residents.

The children this week presented us with a wonderful message written on gold paper using hydroglicfs. This has been placed in the entrance to the manor with the English version for those of us who are rusty on this language.

We have lots more sessions planned and will stay with the children when they more to year 6 in September.

As well as the above school we are now going to work closely with St Marys in Haslingden and this project will run to the end of term and then start again in September. The children also learn about dementia and what life can be like within a care centre.
