Holme Manor Care Home News
News from Holme Manor March/April 2019Well it has been a really busy few months down at Holme Manor and I cannot believe we are already in the middle of March and fast approaching the better weather I hope.
We have been lucky enough to get out on a few lovely walks before the rain started again and the residents just love having that freedom of walking down the lane and by the river and also watching the trains pass by. Fingers crossed for many more lovely days like this.
The summerhouse will also be back in use once the warm weather comes so don't forget you can use this to sit and chat with family members and enjoy the lovely view. Just ask if you need any help or drinks. Our storybox sessions will be held in here also and we have some fabulous themes, racing, movies, love, letter writing etc so watch this space.
Our wonderful Knit and Knatter is happening daily now as our residents are knitting brilliant things for us and really enjoying each others company. If you have any wool, patterns or needles I am sure we can make use of it.
Lots of other great things have been happening, craft, cookery, games and exercises as well as reminiscing, photos, picture books to name just a few. Alex has been working on a one to one with some of our residents helping with fitness and mobility. Holme Manor News January/February 2019Well we are back after the festivities and hope everyone has enjoyed themselves and made lots of great memories with family and friends.
Its that time of year when we have the whole year a head to think of and plan our great activities and get our residents involved in everything we are thinking of doing. Last year was jam packed with so many wonderful things that it is going to take some beating in 2019.
Once again we resume with our great Monday morning Silvershed sessions with Cath, Jayne and Sammie with the help from the two Tommies. A new set of dates will be set and these will be up asap and don't forget you can come and join in when ever you are free. Great fun with drama, poetry, music, exercises and most of all great company. We have three special sessions planned and these will be in the style of a choir. Yes Holme Manor choir !!!! Just a trial to see how this could work.
Cooking club will resume bringing lots of homemade and homebaked goodies to our residents. These sessions are brilliant and really bring us all together whilst learning from each other and trying new things.
Sue and her DFR Flowers and Friendship will be back after their well earned break and we will be doing great flowers followed by singing and music.
We will be learning some new craft skills and also continuing with our great projects. Valentines, Mother's Day and Easter are all not far away. If you have any ideas please feel free to let us know we will try anything.
Don'f forget to watch all our good ideas and activities on the facebook page Activities R Us - East Lancs Care Homes. This is a great way of seeing all the good stuff we do every week. Our website gallery is always full of great pictures. If you require any information just pop in or give us a call.
Lots of things happening over the next few months so keep your eyes peeled and watch out for our new displays and art work.
Thank you for all your support and lets hope 2019 is a great one for us all.
